What we store
- Your email (the real one) — so we can deliver filtered digests to you.
- Your intake alias — the disposable-looking address newsletters see.
- Your interests — the include/exclude terms you configure.
- Metadata of every email we receive on your behalf — sender, subject, timestamp,
and the structured extracts (headlines + snippets) our pipeline identified.
- Raw bodies, short-term — in encrypted object storage for up to 30 days,
then automatically purged. Used for debugging and letting you re-read originals.
What we never do
- Sell or share your email address or reading behaviour with third parties.
- Use the content of your newsletters to train general-purpose AI models.
- Send you marketing from digestbox itself beyond what you signed up for.
Who we share with (our sub-processors)
- DigitalOcean — app hosting, managed DB, object storage.
- Supabase — Postgres database.
- Mailgun — email receiving and delivery.
- Anthropic — the relevance-ranker LLM (Claude Haiku). Each email is scored in a
stateless API call; Anthropic doesn't train on your data.
- Stripe — payment processing once we start charging. We don't see your card number.
Your controls
- Change or delete your interests anytime from your dashboard.
- Rotate your intake alias — email us and we'll generate a fresh one.
- Delete your account and everything associated with it — same channel.
